1. Nature of Service

askwork.ai is operated as a not-for-profit community legal information service by AskWork Community Services Ltd (ABN pending โ€” not-for-profit entity to be registered). This platform provides general information and automated triage only. It is NOT a law firm and does NOT provide legal advice. No solicitor-client relationship is formed between you and this platform, or any person associated with this platform, by using this service. No outcomes are guaranteed. Information provided through this service may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your specific circumstances. You should always verify information before acting on it and seek independent legal advice for your situation. We do not generate profit from referrals or user data.

Non-Profit Status

This service is operated on a not-for-profit basis. Operating costs are funded through grants, donations, and community support. No revenue is generated from user referrals or user data.

2. AI and Automation Disclaimer

Machine-Generated Content

This service uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate responses. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for your specific situation. You must not rely on it as legal advice.

Verify Before Acting

You should independently verify any information provided by this service before taking any action, particularly in relation to legal rights, deadlines, or entitlements. Legal deadlines (such as unfair dismissal filing periods) are strict โ€” do not rely on AI responses for these.

3. Referrals and Independence

Where this platform connects you to a legal service, community legal centre, or government agency, this is provided as a free community service. AskWork does NOT receive any referral fees, commissions, or payments from any referred service. All referrals are made solely in the user's interest.

Independent Services

Any legal service, community legal centre, or government agency you are connected to is an independent third party. That service is solely responsible for all advice provided to you, their conduct, and any outcomes. This platform is not responsible for the services they provide.

Free Community Service

AskWork is operated as a not-for-profit community service. We do not receive referral fees, commissions, or any payment from any referred service. Any connection made through this platform is provided solely in the interest of the worker.

Your Choice

A connection from this platform is not an endorsement or recommendation of any service. You should make your own assessment before engaging any legal professional or service.

4. Limitation of Liability

Exclusion of Indirect Loss

To the extent permitted by law, this platform excludes all liability for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive losses, including loss of wages, loss of visa status, loss of employment, or legal costs incurred as a result of using this service.

ACL Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the extent permitted by law.

Third-Party Services

We are not liable for data breaches, errors, or service interruptions caused by third-party providers including OpenAI and Replit.

Liability Cap

Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the lesser of: (a) the fees you paid to this platform for the service concerned; or (b) AUD $100. This platform is provided free of charge; accordingly, our maximum aggregate liability to you is AUD $100.
